The students of the Hillman Entrepreneurs Program want to thank the entire Montgomery College community for pitching in to support the Hillman Program Food Drive that concluded just as the campus closed for the winter holiday. Although exam week and the impending holidays were on the minds of all students, faculty, and staff, that did not hinder anyone’s generosity. Chartwell’s Catering contacted the program director to see how they could help and MCCopies also came to the plate–to print coupons that Chartwell’s honored for anyone making a contribution. And it paid off: the food drive collected 421 canned items–that’s 395 pounds of food!
In addition to donating food to Manna Food, the students decided to take a portion of the donations and restock the food pantry on the Germantown campus. Many many thanks to all who donated their time, effort, and contributions to help those in need in our communities.
