Provide Multiple Avenues to Success

Do Overs: Ensure that students are given multiple opportunities to learn from their mistakes and make improvements. Ex. Paper revisions and test do-overs are two common ways to help students learn from their mistakes.

Varied Assessments: If possible, try to devise more than one way to assess a student’s mastery of course content and skills. Ex. Sometimes students who might do poorly on a test excel in writing or presentations; allowing them to shine in their own way is surprising and rewarding!
