Join a book circle with the M.C. Universal Design Center text next to stacked books

Join us and chat about Universal Design (UD) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). We will be talking about big practice issues and strategies to address them in learning environments, program development, as well as other student touch points that are facilitated by staff, admin, and program managers. 

The Universal Design Center (UDC) will be facilitating book circles that explore two different publications. The two options support two tracks including, faculty and trainers in incorporating Universal Design for Learning into their learning environments as well as staff, program managers, and admins in incorporating ​Universal Design in their programs and services.

For faculty and trainers

Reach Everyone, Teach Everyone: Universal Design for Learning in Higher Education (Teaching and Learning in Higher Education)

Topics: UDL, prioritizing efforts, macro and micro UDL adoption guidance, and case studies

Two cohorts will be available for this track.

  1. Cohort 1 – Register in Workday
    Facilitator: Paul Miller
    Dates: Wednesdays – 2/16/22, 3/2/22, and 3/16/22
    Time: 5-6 pm
  2. Cohort 2 – Register in Workday
    Facilitator: Stephanie Landon
    Dates: Wednesdays – 2/16/22, 3/9/22, and 3/30/22
    Time: 10-11 am

For program managers, staff, and admin

Creating Inclusive Learning Opportunities in Higher Education: A Universal Design Toolkit by Sheryl E. Burgstahler (Author), Ana Mari Cauce (Foreword)
Topics: Creating accessible College programs, case studies, application in student services, physical spaces, technology, and higher ed facilities

Two cohorts will be available for this track.

  1. Cohort 3 – Register in Workday
    Facilitator: Stacy Ford
    Dates: Tuesdays – 2/15/22, 3/1/22, and 3/15/22
    Time: 11-12 pm
  2. Cohort 4 – Register in Workday
    Facilitator: Christopher Moy
    Dates: Fridays – 2/18/22, 3/4/22, and 3/25/22
    Time: 2-3 pm
