Today, September 20, the 2024 Cohort visited the National Portrait Gallery to explore the lives of changemakers and leaders in the United States, from the early “Men of Progress,” highlighting early inventors, to “The Justices,” a portrait of the original four women seated on the Supreme Court. Our fantastic Gallery Educators not only highlighted the achievements and importance of a hand selected set of portraits but engaged the students in making their own observations and interpretations, setting them up for their personal explorations of portraits that spoke to them. I’m excited to learn more from them about their own revelations!
