Creating Community and Accountability with Group Me

Group Me is a mobile application that allows all students and the professor to communicate via text without disclosing their personal phone numbers. It is an app that allows “just-in-time” communication regarding assignments, course content and whatever is on their mind. (Not as scary as it sounds!) It creates a free flow of information because we all live in our pockets now. This is an optional feature of the class, and if a student does not have a cell phone, they can be connected via email. Almost every student chooses to use Group Me because it is fun and useful, and the learning is mutual. Text, pictures, videos and links can be sent.
