The Student Training and Resource (STaR) Network is a comprehensive program to provide paid professional development and career readiness opportunities to degree-seeking students at MC. The STaR Network is made possible by Innovation Grants (2023 and 2024). The program includes various activities (both virtual and in-person) and resources to support students in their academic and professional development. The program aims to provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their current roles at MC and their future careers while supporting the College’s mission to provide students with a high-quality education and prepare them for the workforce and post-graduation success.

STaR FAQs & Information

All degree-seeking students at MC who are registered for classes at MC this semester may apply for the STaR Network. Unfortunately, non-credit and dual-enrollment students are not eligible at this time. If you are a student employee, we recommend discussing this with your supervisor before you apply.

For each STaR Network session you attend in full, a $25 credit will be applied to your MC student account. Credits will be processed after attendance has been confirmed for each session. Students who attend and successfully complete a post-session reflection will be eligible for an additional $13 credit per session.

There is no limit to the number of sessions a student can register for, but each session can accommodate up to 30 participants. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Students who attend at least 60% of sessions in full and complete self-reflections are eligible for a digital badge, which is a recognized microcredential that can be added to your resume and LinkedIn profile.

What is a microcredential?
