Volume 1, Issue 3 | ELITE Digest | November 2021
Welcome to the latest edition of the ELITE Digest.
October was a busy month! With the fall semester well underway, mid-terms and the return to work are just two driving topics of conversation among our MC community. Throughout the month, there were over 50 ELITE-sponsored workshops as well as numerous events to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month and Humanities Days – all providing opportunities to support personal and professional growth! Learn more about ELITE’s work and impact over the past quarter.
As we move into November, ELITE is excited to offer the first of six workshops in Exploring Decolonizing Higher Education at Montgomery College through its Maryland Open Source Textbook (M.O.S.T.) grant, and are proud to announce the 2021 Virtual Faculty Showcase: ELEVATE & CELEBRATE MC. We continue to partner with the Data Trustee Group and the Office of Compliance, Risk, and Ethics on upcoming college-wide initiatives, and look forward to giving you additional information about this work in December.
In support of the recent National Coming Out Day (October 11), ELITE is collaborating with the Office of Equity and Inclusion and faculty to facilitate a dialogue around MC’s Safe Zone training. We invite members of the MC community to participate in the November 4 Committee Meeting from 3 pm – 4 pm to help re-design this opportunity.
As we enter fall, we have another “un-be-leaf-able” opportunity for two members of the MC community to enter to win MC gear by completing the H5P puzzle. To enter, all you have to do is:
- complete this month’s ELITE Interactive Game (see below); and
- send us a copy of your answers by 5 pm on Friday, November 5, 2021.
Winners will be selected at random and contacted via email on November 8, 2021. For an extra chance to win, “like” the November ELITE Digest post on the Montgomery Employees Facebook page by 5 pm on November 5, 2021.
Thank you for taking a moment to read this month’s Digest. No Thanksgiving month would be complete without thanking the people who make our jobs so special. On behalf of the ELITE team, I want to thank you for giving us the opportunity to support your professional development needs. Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
