Hey Survivors,

If you are new here, welcome! We call ourselves survivors because we survive every semester with its challenges and if you are an old survivor, welcome back! A little introduction to our new readers, my name is Kandi and I am a fourth semester nursing student who is strongly looking forward to graduation May 2020. I am a Cameroonian and I love to write blogs that will inspire, encourage and keep you up to date with some fun things going on at MC. I am also a believer in Christ and sold out to the things of God.

If you are like me and still unsure what the heck is going on, I think THE BREAK IS TRULY OVER. I still haven’t gotten into full school mood, as a matter of fact, I am still trying to get my mind set on it. The mind is an amazing part of our being, the mind has a power I think we neglect or underestimate. I strongly believe failure or success begins in the mind. One day, this teenager at my church walked up and told me she didn’t want to attend a class because she thinks the teacher is very boring and can’t teach. I asked her why she needed that class and when she answered, I told her to focus on that. The reason the teacher is boring to you is because you already have your mind set on that and no matter how good he teaches you won’t get anything, all you will see is a boring teacher. We talked on changing her mindset, she agreed and sat through that class and came up to me later with so much excitement telling me how great it was. All she needed was a mind reset. Where am I going with this you ask?

This semester I am sure you have some classes that are not your favorite, new classes, new teachers, new challengers and so much more. I want you to approach every class with a success mindset, forget all you’ve heard about the class, teacher or situation and see it as what you want it. When you think success, you go far and beyond to succeed but when you start thinking failure, fear stops you from even trying. Like the teenager I mentioned, let’s approach this semester with a mindset of all A’s and even when it gets hard, lets strategize and do all we can to achieve our goal.

IT IS GOING TO BE A GREAT SEMESTER

Stay tuned for next week…

Bih Nche Kandi

Hi, my name is Kandi and I am a third semester nursing student. I am happy and excited to be a part of MC voices to not only Mc as a whole but to nursing students, foreign students without immediate family in the United States, African students, and new students. Why because that’s what makes me, I am all of that and much more.

I am a Cameroonian who has lived in the United States for almost 5years. I am a Christian and a believer in Christ and also a very optimistic person. I make and share a lot of encouraging/inspirational/motivational Videos and post on Instagram @uniquelykandi.

If you are new to MC welcome,
If you are new to the nursing program, welcome,
If you new to the United States, welcome.

I believe we will have a lot of fun sharing and learning from each other.
