For the finale, I know registration is coming up next week, so I wanted to…
Hi Raptors!
As I started my Monday morning with the usual classes and the usual breakfast, it never occurred to me that I had missed an important deadline. I forgot to submit my blog this past Sunday:( I never thought I could completely blank out on something this important to me, but indeed it happened. And I’m sure it can happen to anyone.
Well as I now get back on track, I wanted to talk to you about the things we will probably forget as we get closer to our Thanksgiving break. We are already so used to our routines that we may forget about other important events that can be happening in our lives. For instance, a family member’s birthday or an anniversary or even your dog’s birthday. Jokes aside, I think we must be aware of what else is happening around us and a great way to that is by taking a break. I know a break is coming our way, but taking a personal break on a weekend should totally be allowed. Our school work is important for sure, but we can’t let that be everything that takes up our time.
Taking the time to get out of your routine can surely improve the way you approach your day. Setting up a routine is important and very good. Don’t get me wrong; routine gives you a sense of assurance and lets you know what to expect. Who doesn’t like that, right? With a routine, also comes boredom. We are so caught up in our own lives that we don’t notice the good and important moments around us. While taking your break, try writing down events that you look forward to these last months of the year. There’s no such thing as a small event because you’re the only one who decides its importance. Of course, try not to forget those homework deadlines our professors will emphasize this week!
Just take the time to take a breath and look around you. Notice what’s happening and what will be happening soon in your life. Look forward to it and hold on to it until it happens.
Sincerely,
Meredith
