https://www.youtube.com/shorts/xOA7dKSThWY Hey! Welcome to my fourth entry at MC Voices, today I will be showing…
I am by no means an ideal student; I forgot to do homework, I put things off into an indeterminable future, I am not always enthusiastic (which no one is), and sometimes I just don’t prioritize the best. So how do I manage?
Disclaimer: Historically, as I said above, I haven’t had the best habits when it comes to school. Recently (this year), I’ve been able to apply myself differently by making some lifestyle changes. Now if you are like me and happily squander your potential at times, the best thing do to is to work with yourself and not against yourself.
I’ll concisely list a few strategies I personally use.
1.) First and Forget – This works pretty much only for online classes but may be useful for reading assignment and projects. If you have the time, get everything you have to do done in the nearest and quickest amount of time. Work tends to mount up the closer you get to a deadline; it may just be entropy (who knows). I’ve had complete weeks of no work, because I busted my bum on the first 1 or 2 days working non-stop. This means I could work, relax, and do my hobbies.
2.) You may adopt the attitude of the dog in the picture above, but please do not adopt the environment. That is to say, worrying and anxiety are absolutely useless emotions but it doesn’t mean we’ll stop getting them, try and root out the issue that may be causing them (in this case schoolwork) instead of letting them take over and stress you out.
3.) You can refer to my previous entry about the 30-30 or 1-1 rule, here->http://mcblogs.montgomerycollege.edu/mcvoices/2016/10/06/five-thousand-meters-to-walk-and-read/
Also I’d like to give a shout out to Blue, his most recent entry also happens to be my favorite, if you haven’t read his work please give it a shot. http://mcblogs.montgomerycollege.edu/mcvoices/2016/10/19/the-art-of-questioning/
Jake, I think what ever works best for an individual student is what they ought to use. The key is to figure out exactly what works for you best. It sounds like you have it nailed – for you. Thank you for following the other blogs and giving them a shout out.
