This video will help you GRADUATE!

Michael

Hey my name is Michael Gorres, I’m 21 years old and a Graphic Design Major at the Rockville campus of Montgomery College. I was born and raised in Montgomery County and graduated from Magruder High School. After graduating from MC, I hope to receive a bachelor’s degree from UMBC. Eventually, I intend to become a successful graphic designer at a well known Gaming Company.

When I'm not in school or at work I like to play video games, try new foods, go hiking, and hang out with my friends. To me, the best memories are those spent with great people. I'm pretty much an energetic, nerdy, and creative guy.  I look forward to entertaining you with all my adventures in and around campus!

  1. Danny, this is excellent for ALL students to see. Sorry this happened to you, but it is too common. I think when this occurs, it is a mix of inadequate advising, one’s personal responsibility and misdirection. i.e. the blame is not in one place. Not graduating on time at UMD was a huge problem years ago that even was spotlighted in the Washington Post (most students needed 5-6 years to graduate). I helped my son track so he was out in 4 years. What was happening at that time (nearly 20 years ago now) was not enough advisers (inability to schedule an appointment), waiting too long and not being able to schedule a needed class (full) and perhaps scheduling conflicts of classes. And in my son’s case, the adviser left and students were not told; nobody was in the office. Now THAT was a panic call home! Now that everything is online, perhaps it is easier, but what you demonstrated today was the first I had seen this. Very helpful info! Thank you for sharing!
