https://www.youtube.com/shorts/xOA7dKSThWY Hey! Welcome to my fourth entry at MC Voices, today I will be showing…
Short week – back at it! How was your break? My wife and I spent a few days at a cabin in WV for our 5th Anniversary, and made it back in time for the snow. Perfect. Did some catching up on homework over the following days, and further confirmed how serious six courses and a lab really is. Brutal. Poor little brain. First day back today, and I felt reinvigorated and as focused as ever. The intermittent fasting is still in full effect – day 17 – and I am managing the blocks much more easily now. More importantly, I’m managing my macro breakdown a little better. After class today, I stopped over at the cafe on Rockville campus and snagged two of the packaged burgers. I had to ditch the buns, and saved them for the kids to feedto the birds in our back yard. Win-win. Listening to “Bulls on Parade” by Rage Against the Machine, eating cheesy burger patties, and enjoying ice-cold coffee in my car in the parking lot, I think I looked appropriately out there. I’m sure to find team members for the MC Battle of the Campuses Walking Challenge – link will be up in this post soon! After class, I rushed home to put the finishing touches on my Body Composition Lab Report for PHED237 – which is an incredibly interesting class, by the way. Professor Thomas has us all pushing ourselves to new heights. I’m also taking PHED230 with Professor Ridings along with it, and they truly are a power duo. Once I arrived at home, I realized I’d be a little more productive at a library… my oldest wanted to play chess, my second wanted cheese (cheddar AND cottage), and my third wanted to color on the table, my textbook, and the inside of my mouth (“say ahhh”). I accommodated 2/3 of my sweet little angels before deciding to head over to Greenbelt library to immerse myself in Pomodoro sessions. Philip Glass took over my earbuds while I thought about which cubby I’d use at the Rockville library to double check my calculations. So. Many. Calculations. But frankly, I enjoy my time at the library. It’s a sanctuary. I’m not alone – the Rockville campus library is hardly ever empty. But what you’ll find there is a chaos of the serene type – a school of fish changing directions as opposed to the stampede that overtook Mufasa. Next time you need to study, be a Grizzly Bear. Don’t be Simba. Seriously though, go to libraries. They’re great. Silver Spring has an awesome selection – stumbled upon some really cool stuff downstairs. Check it out! Also, check back on this post within the next 48 for that link.
