https://www.youtube.com/shorts/xOA7dKSThWY Hey! Welcome to my fourth entry at MC Voices, today I will be showing…
It’s very easy to let adversity and clamor burden you; it’s easy to focus on the negative. Did you ever have this happen? You were having a fantastic day and everything was going great, but you bumped into someone and they treated you harshly or you got road-rage or you read some depressing news. Well, you could just let all that negativity in and wallow in it…or you can learn to accept it and focus on the positive. It wouldn’t be unpopular for me to talk about the recent election especially how controversial it was, but I’d like to talk about this instead. > https://www.mprnews.org/story/2016/11/08/first-us-somali-lawmaker-ilhan-omar-elected-mn-house <
The first Somali-American lawmaker was elected in Minnesota yesterday! Diversity, progression, equality, change. All right there, and it should be headlining because this is groundbreaking for America, but it’s not. Why? Well you know the answer to that.
Applying this to college is easy and commonsense as well. Bummed you’re at a 2-year instead of joining the “booming college life” at a 4-year (which really isn’t that glamorous by the way)? Well, focus on the positive aspects: You can focus on school and work towards scholarships, grants, and benefits. You’re saving a ton of money, because 4-years have drastically raised their tuition over the last 20 years or more. You get time – and time is precious – to figure everything out.
That’s all I have time for, so back to reading. This week I’m reading about Japan’s Comfort Women (horrifying stuff) but stay positive!

Somehow really needed this reminder this past week.
