For the finale, I know registration is coming up next week, so I wanted to…
Hi Raptors!
It is officially the second week of November, and I started thinking about the blessings that I have in my life up to this point. This did not only help me feel happier and hopeful for the future, but it also helped me reflect on the things I could work on as a daughter, granddaughter, friend, cousin, etc.
We are all different here. We are full-time and part-time students who may or may not work. We may have an internship or more than two jobs while taking 18 credits, etc. There are so many combinations out there, yet we all have something in common: we are human. This means that we will make mistakes and have very bad days. It is normal and it is simply part of life. As we go on our day to day lives, we encounter many people at school and different attitudes at home. We have people who are there to support us as well as people who are not there at all. Either way, whatever the circumstance may be, we must always remain thankful.
I say always because even the annoying or bad people in our lives teach us a lesson. They can teach us to be more kind or patient or humble. Whether they might’ve ruined your whole day, it is your choice to make something out of that situation. Who knows, it can become a life lesson! I am learning to deal with obstacles in a more positive way and by being thankful for them. It is easier said than done, but it is worth trying. There are moments when I think I can’t handle things anymore, and I feel like giving up and even lose a bit of hope. To me, this is very important because having faith and God in my life is something I cannot live without. It is the foundation for everything that I do and commit to in my life. So as this is important to me, I hope you can find that very important foundation that holds your whole life together, especially when you feel like things aren’t working out.
This can apply this in school, at home, in your job, in your relationships, etc. Find the reason that helps you get a new perspective, allows you to get back on your feet, overcome that poor grade or that hurtful argument. That reason will push you to become a better you, and for that you must always be thankful.
It’s always good to try to have a positive spin on even seemingly negatives. It also helps to get past the bad stuff more easily and quickly. I am not sure if this is a learned trait or some folks are simply more positive and resilient than others, but you seem to be! This too shall pass, as they say.
There’s this cliché saying “when life gives you lemons make lemonade out of it”. Being positive is easy if you choose to do so, however, it’s hard to be positive when everything is negative around you. I am too trying to find my groove when I am feeling a negative way. I try to find ways and alternatives to turn it around and think about the positives. For some people it’s easier than others.
