https://www.youtube.com/shorts/xOA7dKSThWY Hey! Welcome to my fourth entry at MC Voices, today I will be showing…
On April 11th on the Rockville Campus, student entrepreneurs of will compete in the Raptor Tank Business Pitch Competition! This year is the third year. The pitch competition was modeled after ABC’S hit show Shark Tank. This year, six business ideas will be presented to a panel of judges for a chance to win up to $5,000 in seed money.
What is Raptor Tank?
Raptor Tank is designed to promote student start-up ideas and economic development by bringing together students with mentors and judges from the entrepreneurial community in a real-life business challenge.
General Overview
The competition generally begins during the fall semester. Orientations are held at the start of the semester to discuss the program expectations and timeline. Students then submit an executive summary of a business plan to a panel of faculty, staff, students, and/or business professionals for review by the end of the semester. During the spring semester, selected finalists attend a series of workshops with subject matter experts regarding entrepreneurship. These finalists then make a business pitch to a panel of external judges (primarily local entrepreneurs). The judges select the winning participants who receive up to $5,000 in seed money to start and/or grow the business venture. Interested participants may contact Hannah Weiser at hannah.weiser@montgomerycollege.edu or mcraptortank@gmail.com.
