When in Urinetown . . .

Your body is covered with dirty old rags. Your stomach is rumbling and you have not had a proper glass of water in years. You have no roof over your head and daily you are standing in front of Public amenity #9 begging for a penny to be able to pee. While you are stripped of your humanity and privacy and have to pay to use public restrooms, the wealthy are sitting in their fancy suits and rolling in money with no care in the world. This is the story of Urinetown the musical. Law and order, poverty, class, understanding, and love are some of the many themes expressed in this comedic romp.

Directed by Helen Murray, choreographed by Sandra Atkinson, and musically directed by Marika Countouris, Urinetown comes to life through the students of Montgomery College. If you are a theater fanatic and appreciate the arts you should come and see the show.

There are no words to express the thrill and excitement that comes from watching a story come to life right in front of you. The live orchestra leading the musical, the actors singing their hearts out, the cast dancing to the beat of the music, the lights setting the atmosphere and the sweat flying off the stage is something you can only experience in that moment you sit as an audience member in the theater. And none of the magic would be possible without the hard working crew members backstage from the stage manager to the costume crew. We thank you all.
