TROKER:

If Salvador Dali ever made a heist movie, then Mexico’s TROKER would have been the soundtrack. Their sound careens between the sublime and the dangerous, the composed and the improvised, where metal riffage merges with powerhouse funk, DJ scratching, and horn lines pulled from both jazz and mariachi traditions of their homeland (Guadalajara, México).  In 2016, they were named by Rolling Stone Mexico as one of the “Top 20 Mexican Artists Breaking Boundaries”, and rightly so: they have been breaking boundaries in music for nearly 20 years. During the month of “Día de los Muertos”, Mexico’s TROKER will perform at the CU Cultural Arts very much alive … don’t miss it!

TULA VERA:

Spooky blues with a punk psych rock edge, Tula Vera has been dazzzling crowds since their arrival on the scene with genre defying musical magic. Their two self-released full length albums, and most recent EP has garnered a dedicated following from the east coast and beyond. Tula Vera’s hypnotizing guitar licks, formidably catchy melodies, and rhythm section that demands boisterous dancing as well as gentle swaying has solidified themselves as DIY legends, and mainstays in music scenes across the country.

JAVI VERA:

Javi Vera is funk-rock artist, songwriter, and producer from Baltimore, Maryland. His inspirations range from Spanish rock bands Soda Stereo and Juanes, funk rock staples Jamiroquai and funkadelic, and modern-day artists like Steve Lacy and Omar Apollo. His music is insanely unique and a sound that’s unheard of in today’s sonic landscape. Javi is a rising star helping lead a new generation of Latin-American artists, and his journey to stardom is only beginning.
