April 18, 2016 @ 1:00 pm
Due to unforeseen circumstances this lecture been cancelled. We currently do not have plans to reschedule for this academic year but we will be looking at rescheduling this event next year. We apologize for any inconvenience this might have for anyone.
Thank you!
The post-9/11 era in the US has exposed a significant degree of prejudice and bigotry towards Muslim people. In addition, the 2016 presidential candidates have exacerbated broad vilification of Muslims. In 2012, a violent hate-motivated attack on a Sikh temple in Wisconsin highlighted the fact that Islamophobia is not an issue that only impacts Muslims in America. Presenter Amer F. Ahmed, EdD is an intercultural diversity consultant, college administrator, facilitator, poet, and hip-hop activist. Amer has dedicated his life to engaging and facilitating diversity across differences. Lecture sponsored by Student Life and the Cultural Arts Center.
