Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus Projects Updates – September 16, 2022

Dear Neighbors,

Thank you for your interest in the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus construction projects. We strive to keep our neighbors informed about significant construction events with this weekly email notification.

This notice will continue to provide information on the construction of the Catherine and Isiah Leggett Building construction and will now include updates regarding the HVAC rooftop replacement on Pavilions 1 and 2 (P1 and P2) and the campus library renovation in the Resource Center.

Upcoming activities are listed below:

Pavilions 1 and 2—HVAC Replacement
  • Interior Work: Interior work will continue.
  • Rooftop Work: Work with continue to restore roof materials and insulate ductwork.
  • Deliveries: No deliveries are expected. 
  • Saturday Work: Henley Construction will conduct interior work on Saturday, September 17, and Saturday, September 24. All work will follow the requirements of the noise ordinance.
Leggett Building—Construction 
  • Deliveries: Materials are being delivered on site for use within the structure. All trucks are required to follow designated routes to and from the site and must enter and exit on Fenton Street from Philadelphia.
  • Interior Work: Interior work on the building continues.
  • Masonry: Concrete masonry work is continuing in preparation for brick installation on the exterior.
Library/Resource Center—Renovation
  • Utility Location: An electrical line location will be completed next week. A Tristate Electric pickup truck will be parked in front of the Resource Center on New York Avenue for several hours. A worker will use equipment attached to the truck to detect where the electrical lines are located on Montgomery College property. No noise of significance is expected from this work.
