Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus Projects Updates – December 23, 2022

Dear Neighbors,

Thank you for your interest in the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus construction projects. We strive to keep our neighbors informed about significant construction events with this weekly email notification.

This notice will continue to provide information on the construction of the Catherine and Isiah Leggett Building construction and will now include updates regarding the HVAC rooftop replacement on Pavilions 1 and 2 (P1 and P2) and the campus library renovation in the Resource Center.

Upcoming activities are listed below:

• Montgomery College will be closed the week of December 26 through January 2. During that time, there will be no weekly update. We will resume our regular emails the week of January 2.  Please feel free to contact us via email or the project hotline listed below which is consistently monitored.

• This project has been completed.

• Roof Work: The screen wall installation around the remainder of the roof is continuing to advance.
  
• Site Utilities: The backfilling of utility piping on the Fenton Street side of the structure is ongoing. 
• Interior Work: Work on the interior of the structure continues. 
• Deliveries: Materials are being delivered on site for use within the structure. All trucks are required to follow designated routes to and from the site and must enter and exit on Fenton Street from Philadelphia.
• Holiday Schedules: The jobsite will be closed on Friday, December 23; Monday, December 26; Friday, December 30; and Monday, January 2, in observance of the holidays. There will be additional security on site for the Leggett Building.

• Location Updates: The library will be open in reduced capacity in the P1 building beginning January 3, 2023. The Resource Center building is closed to the public in anticipation of construction.
