Leggett Building Project Activity Update – September 17, 2021

Dear Neighbors,

Thank you for your interest in the Leggett Building construction project at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus. We will strive to keep our neighbors informed about significant construction events with this weekly email notification.

Upcoming activities are listed below:

• Earthwork
  Cut and fill excavation for the new building footprint is expected to be complete early next week, including excavation and grading of the site. The removal of the materials from excavation is nearing completion and the number of vehicles related to hauling off materials is expected to decrease in number next week.
• Concrete
  This week, reinforcing bar deliveries to support upcoming concrete activities will continue. The materials delivered will be staged and set up on the site. Material delivery vehicles are expected to be able to maneuver and be managed within the site, and they will enter and exit on Fenton Street from Philadelphia.
• Arbor Day Foundation
  Montgomery College is now a member of the Arbor Day Foundation. The College’s support, together with the shared commitment of our fellow Arbor Day Foundation members and supporters across the country, has a broad and lasting impact on our earth. The work of the Foundation’s enduring programs is possible only through the kindness, generosity, and actions of members and supporters.

  The College’s membership in the Arbor Day Foundation comes with ten Norway Spruce trees to be delivered to the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus in the November timeframe.
