Leggett Building Project Activity Update – October 8, 2021

Dear Neighbors,

Thank you for your interest in the Leggett Building construction project at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus. We will strive to keep our neighbors informed about significant construction events with this weekly email notification.

Upcoming activities are listed below:

• Hauling Materials
  The removal of soil from the Falcon Hall footprint is underway. This soil will be replaced with stone to create a structurally stable base for footers and foundations. This activity will require an increased number of trucks for hauling off materials and stone delivery and will continue over the next week. All trucks will be required to follow designated routes to and from the site and will enter and exit on Fenton Street from Philadelphia.
• Earthwork
  Grading and cut and fill excavation are still underway at the south end of the site. The removal of materials from the site is nearing completion as well.
• Concrete
  The delivery and placement of concrete frames, reinforcing bar, and concrete materials continue. Concrete for the foundation has been poured and continues to progress.
