Leggett Building Project Activity Update – June 18, 2021

Dear Neighbors,

Thank you for your interest in the Leggett Building construction project at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus. We will strive to keep our neighbors informed about significant construction events with this weekly email notification.

Upcoming activities are listed below:

• Fencing
  Materials for an eight-foot-tall wood fence adjacent to Takoma Avenue are expected to arrive in the next week. This fence along a portion of Takoma Avenue will be stained and is intended to improve appearance of the construction site from the neighborhood. Fence installation will begin in the upcoming weeks as soon as materials are received.
• Site Utilities
  Work on the sanitary piping and structure installation along the East side of the jobsite continues, concurrent with the ongoing storm drain work. These activities include the use of dumpsters for material removal.
• Earthwork
  Mobilization of earthwork equipment and sheeting and shoring equipment continues to progress. This work will continue over the next few weeks.
• Routine System Maintenance
  As a reminder, the dewatering pump that has been installed to support construction activities will require regular maintenance, such as cleaning the filter and confirming the system is operating properly. One crew member will visit the site one time in the early evening each weekday, and three times during the day on Saturday and Sunday, outside of the posted working hours. Visits are expected to generate minimal noise and last no more than one hour.
