Leggett Building Project Activity Update – December 3, 2021

Dear Neighbors,

Thank you for your interest in the Leggett Building construction project at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus. We will strive to keep our neighbors informed about significant construction events with this weekly email notification.

Upcoming activities are listed below:

• Steel
  In support of upcoming structural steel installation, a crane will be delivered and assembled on site. The erection of steel columns will commence in the following week.
• Hauling Materials
  The replacement of soil for the foundation of the new building is continuing, with soil being removed from the site as needed. The footing and foundation work continues.
• Concrete
  Concrete frames, reinforcing bar, and concrete materials are continuing to be delivered and placed. The concrete installation for the footers and foundation walls is advancing. All trucks are required to follow designated routes to and from the site and must enter and exit on Fenton Street from Philadelphia.
• Saturday Work
  Baton Malow will conduct work this Saturday, December 4, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to complete additional work on concrete installation. The work will follow all requirements of the noise ordinance.
• Holiday Updates
  The jobsite will be closed on the following days: Friday, December 24; Monday, December 27; Friday, December 31; and Monday, January 3. There will be no work on the site during those days. Happy Holidays!
