Leggett Building Project Activity Update – December 10, 2021

Dear Neighbors,

Thank you for your interest in the Leggett Building construction project at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus. We will strive to keep our neighbors informed about significant construction events with this weekly email notification.

Upcoming activities are listed below:

• Steel
  The crane has been delivered and assembled on site in preparation for steel installation. The erection of steel columns will begin in the coming week.
• Hauling Materials
  The replacement of soil for the foundation of the new building is continuing, with soil being removed from the site as needed. The footing and foundation work continues.
• Concrete
  The delivery of concrete frames, reinforcing bar, and concrete materials continues along with their placement. The concrete installation for the footers and foundation walls is progressing, with preparations being made for steel erection. All trucks are required to follow designated routes to and from the site and must enter and exit on Fenton Street from Philadelphia.
• Montgomery College Closures
  MC is closed beginning Friday, Dec. 24 and returns on Monday, Jan. 3.
• Holiday Updates
  The jobsite will be closed on the following days: Friday, December 24; Monday, December 27; Friday, December 31; and Monday, January 3. There will be no work on the site during those days. The next update will be Friday, January 7, 2022. Happy Holidays!
