Leggett Building Project Activity Update – June 25, 2021

Dear Neighbors,

Thank you for your interest in the Leggett Building construction project at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus. We will strive to keep our neighbors informed about significant construction events with this weekly email notification.

Upcoming activities are listed below:

• Fencing
  This week, materials are expected to arrive on site for an eight-foot-tall wood fence to be installed along a portion of Takoma Avenue. As soon as materials are received, the fence installation will commence.
• Site Utilities
  The sanitary piping and structure installation along the East side of the jobsite continues, concurrent with the ongoing storm drain work. These activities include the use of dumpsters for material removal.
• Earthwork
  Sheeting and shoring is expected to begin in the upcoming weeks. Mobilization of earthwork equipment and sheeting and shoring equipment continues to progress.
• Lighting
  Based on community feedback, the project team installed solar-powered, temporary lighting at the corner of Takoma Avenue and Fenton Street within the construction fencing. The existing light fixtures will be powered in the upcoming weeks using temporary power, and will receive permanent power upon completion of the project.
