Dear Neighbors,

Thank you for your interest in the Leggett Building construction project at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus. We will strive to keep our neighbors informed about significant construction events with this weekly email notification.

Upcoming events are listed below:

  • Demolition
Debris removal from the Falcon Hall and Science South structures will continue. Demolition of Science South is complete. Demolition activities of the Falcon Hall foundation walls and structure will also continue this week.
  • Site Utilities
Utility demolition and new installation adjacent to the Commons Building and Takoma Avenue. Specific activities continue to progress. Specific activities will include saw cutting, pavement removal, earthwork, and marking locations for future work. The final backfill at the Commons building will take place this week. The small excavator near the Commons Building has been removed from the area adjacent to the building as the storm structure work in that area that required the equipment is complete. On-site excavation for the new domestic water line from Takoma Avenue and stormwater structure installation will continue. These activities will continue to include material deliveries, as well as the use of dumpsters for material removal. Water line work in Takoma Avenue has been completed.
  • Site Power/Lighting
Installation of power feeds to temporary site lighting continues and should be completed in the next couple of weeks.
