Alisa Smedley is an Americorp VISTA volunteer. Her background includes workforce development and academic preparation for disadvantaged populations. She worked for nine years at a maximum security jail preparing inmates for release. Most recently Alisa was Site Director for a Second Chance Pell Grant program with a University partner. She is passionate about helping to empower men and women through education and employment. She earned her BS in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland.
