Building Well-Being and Belonging Through Teaching
Join Kate Woodsome, resilience strategist, Pulitzer Prize-winning trauma-democracy journalist, and visiting scholar at Georgetown University’s Psychology Department for a unique learning opportunity. This interactive workshop explores the connection between nervous system regulation, well-being, and belonging in higher education. Participants will learn the neuroscience behind stress and safety, practice somatic tools for resilience, and apply the Red House Journey Framework to identify and address barriers to well-being in their classrooms. The session concludes with action planning to integrate sustainable habits that support both instructor and student thriving.
