Hi everyone! My name is Lirio Reyes Castro, and I am a second-year business major at Montgomery College. I’m so excited to share a little bit about how my fall semester started.
The beginning of a new semester always feels like a mix of emotions—excitement for fresh opportunities, nervousness about what’s ahead, and a little stress while I adjust to new routines. This semester was no exception, but it reminded me how much I enjoy being part of the MC community.
One of my favorite parts of starting classes again was reconnecting with familiar faces, friends, classmates, and professors who make campus feel welcoming. At the same time, I’ve had the chance to meet new people, which makes the semester even more exciting.
My classes are already challenging, but they’re also motivating me to build skills that will be important for my future career in business. Outside of academics, I’m grateful to be involved in student leadership and service through groups like Phi Theta Kappa and Raptor Reps. These opportunities not only let me grow as a leader but also give me a chance to contribute to the MC community in meaningful ways.
Overall, the start of this semester has been both busy and inspiring. Even with the challenges, I’m reminded that growth comes with change, and I’m eager to see all that this year will bring as I finish my time here at MC.
