Hi Raptors! My name is Omobolanle, but Bamby works just as well. And no, I don’t look anything like the tree above; that’s just one of my favorite spots on campus, it’s where I sit when I need to just breathe, think, or just people-watch before class. I am a general studies STEM major, and when I am not in class, you can usually find me either studying, helping with student activities, or hanging with friends.
Starting at MC was, honestly, a roller-coaster. I felt excited, nervous, and a little overwhelmed all at once. I learned early on that you really can’t do MC alone. Asking for help and using resources doesn’t mean you are weak; it means you are smart. And that’s what I love about MC, you will always find someone ready to support you if you are willing to ask.
If I could give advice to the new Raptors, I would say “stay calm and stay you”. College is stressful enough; trying to be someone you are not could make this harder and ruin your experience.
I know long posts aren’t everyone’s favorites, but hang in there with me. Through this blog, I will share information about available resources, study tips, events worth coming to, and maybe a few behind-the-scenes of my college life. Think of me as someone figuring out college with you.
Thanks for reading my first post. I can’t wait to share more with y’all soon. If you ever see me around campus, feel free to say hi. I ‘d love to connect
Bamby
