I was born and raised right here in the DC area, which seems weird to say in such a transient city. I’ve lived here in the DC Metro Area for my entire life, and most of my immediate family is also in this area, though our roots are in North Carolina.
I am returning to MC after a 10 year break. I started the ASL Studies program 10 years ago, but life intervened and caused me to have to take a break. Now I’m back and ready to finish what I started here. I’m excited about all of the ways that the school has grown and embraced change, and I’m very much looking forward to resuming the life of a college student, albeit with a bit more gray hair.
I am so excited to share both my perspective on school in general as an “older” student, but also to highlight some of the ASL Studies program. I hope to inspire others to know that even though life may sometimes cause a bit of a detour, it’s never too late to return to your original path and finish what you started.
