Greetings all! I know it’s been a long time since my last post here at MC Voices, but I’m excited to be reaching out again with this special thanksgiving post! Let’s kick it off with a motivational quote!
“The soul that gives thanks can find comfort in everything; the soul that complains can find comfort in nothing.”
I love that quote because it really raises a good point about gratitude and compassion. With 2020 being such a rough year, I think it’s extremely important to sit down and take time to analyze what there was to be grateful about. For students, employers, professors, and staff, I know this week will be a great time to sit down and get much-needed rest and quality time with family and hopefully (not too many friends)!
Here are some small ideas of ways to refocus and how to make the rest of this year end on a great note!
Quality Time:
Now is such a great time to spend quality time with family and close-knit friends. This is a moral reminder, to not gather with too many people and to be smart about choices we make during Thanksgiving Break! Enjoy a good movie with a loved one or a nice meal with your family!
Quality Sleep
I don’t know about anybody else, but I desperately need to catch up on some sleep that I missed out on during the semester. Now is a great time to sleep in and get some much-needed naps in between meals.
Finishing Tasks
Do you have tasks leftover from the semester or any passion projects that you want to get completed before the year/semester is over? Now is a great time to knock them out and study for finals. If you need help, consider creating a to-do list or a game
Practice Gratitude
With everything going on in the world, practicing gratitude is one great way to bring in the new year and spread some positivity to others. A great activity to practice gratitude is to pick three things that you are grateful for. You can do this activity alone or with others, and you can say them aloud or even do a great journaling activity!
