Join us here at Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center in Silver Spring for the In Your Neighborhood Kickoff Concert!
NSO In Your Neighborhood is an annual residency that promotes cultural sharing, intentionally strives to have a social impact, and uses music and art to better lives. This community engagement initiative offers free NSO performances, educational activities, and artistic collaborations for one week in specific D.C. neighborhoods. Events range from full orchestra concerts and chamber performances to in-school workshops, masterclasses, and more, in collaboration with local and community-based venues.
Hang out before the concert for a Music and Mandala Making Workshop from 6:15-7 p.m. This year’s commissioned In Your Neighborhood visual artist, Stephanie Kiah, leads an art therapy-informed mandala-making workshop, geared for all ages, featuring a performance from NSO Principal Harpist Adriana Horne. The concert will start at 7:30p.
