Dear Neighbors,
Thank you for your interest in the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus construction projects. We strive to keep our neighbors informed about significant construction events with this weekly email notification.
This notice will continue to provide information on the construction of the Catherine and Isiah Leggett Building construction and will now include updates regarding the HVAC rooftop replacement on Pavilions 1 and 2 (P1 and P2) and the campus library renovation in the Resource Center.
Upcoming activities are listed below:
Pavilions 1 and 2—HVAC Replacement
- Interior Work: Interior work related to the project will continue.
- Dumpster Removal: The site dumpster will be removed and replaced from New York Avenue twice during the week. Vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be monitored.
- Holiday Updates: Henley Construction will not be conducting any work during the holiday weekend, including on Saturday. Site work will resume the following week.
Leggett Building—Construction
- Site Utilities: Excavation work for the installation of utility piping on the Fenton Street side of the structure is continuing.
- Deliveries: Materials are continuing to be delivered on site for use within the structure. All trucks are required to follow designated routes to and from the site and must enter and exit on Fenton Street from Philadelphia.
- Interior Work: Work on the interior of the structure continues.
- Holiday Updates: Barton Malow will not be conducting any work during the holiday weekend. There will be additional security on site for the Leggett Building.
Library/Resource Center—Renovation
- Tree Protection Plan: RRMM Architects has submitted the project’s Tree Protection Plan to the City. The documents are available on our website.
