Cybersecurity Grant

The Departments of Labor and Education award Montgomery College nearly $5 million to provide increased education and training for industries relating to cybersecurity. The College receives the award to lead a consortium of Maryland community colleges in the nearly $15 million award for the state. The funding is part of the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) competitive grant program, which provides nearly $540 million in job-driven training grants to nearly 270 community colleges across the country. In December, the College hosted Labor Secretary Tom Perez, Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker, and industry representatives from Lockheed Martin and other companies for a panel discussion on cybersecurity jobs and careers.
