This year’s series, entitled Defining America, is dedicated to exploring identity and ideals in our nation. Dr. Pollard’s conversations with her guests explore the question of how we define “Americans” and how dissent from majority opinion impacts national identity. Experts whose work relates directly to these questions contribute perspectives on what lies at the root of American democracy. Guests include: Pat McGuire, president of Trinity University in Washington, DC; Seth Goldman, cofounder, Honest Tea and Fair Trade business leader; and Robert Green, director of Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation.
