We are pleased to announce our premiere issue of The Cabinet. Our first issue will feature selections by Zachary Benavidez, former Acting Editor-in-Chief of the Potomac Review.

Just as the American president takes counsel from his cabinet advisors, a literary journal Editor-in-Chief takes suggestions from a board of associate editors–hence the name, which also seems appropriate for our suburban Washington location.

Now and again, genre editors will assemble selections of works that deserve publication and that can be celebrated in a special themed issue of their own. The Cabinet provides that space for us, the first issue’s theme will be “Loss.”

This anthology, temporarily labeled the Fiction Annex, celebrates a diverse range of works–fiction, poetry, and nonfiction–and we hope to have future issues of The Cabinet that might celebrate other literary themes, which will be selected by Potomac Review’s genre editors.

We are excited about the possibilities. As we work on the finishing touches we are eager to blog/tweet/discuss it. You can pre-order your copy on our Store page. Print and delivery are expected in January!
