Thanks to everyone who submitted poems for the Potomac Review‘s 2012 Poetry Contest and to the contest judges, Professor Zachary Benavidez and Professor Robert Giron. The Potomac Review is pleased to announce that W.F. Lantry is the Potomac Review’s 2012 contest winner. Mr. Lantry’s poem “Mendelssohn” will be published in Potomac Review’s Issue 52 due out in Fall 2012. Mr. Lantry’s work has appeared in The Wallace Stevens Journal, Descant, Gulf Coast and Aesthetica. His chapbook, The Language of Birds, is a lyric retelling of Attar’s Conference of the Birds. He currently works in Washington, DC, and is a contributing editor of Umbrella Journal.
