Our Associated Writing Programs event, “Best of 50: Potomac Review Celebrates” opened the Friday morning events at the national conference which was held in DC this past week. Our thanks to Kirk Nesset, Sandra Beasley, Nancy Naomi Carlson, Amina Gautier, Jennine Capo Crucet and Marilyn Kallet for their wonderful performances. The reading showcased some of the best work of the 49 issues of the Potomac Review which will be released in a special issue in the early fall.
Also Potomac Review joined Moon Milk Review at the Johns Hopkins University Dupont circle campus for an off site reading on Friday evening. Nearly 150 people attended the two readings. The love of poetry and essays and stories is alive and well.
The AWP is the annual national conference which draws writers, students, and teachers from everywhere, from community colleges to PHD programs to local community writer’s center. The Potomac Review staff was honored that its event was selected to be included in the conference.
