For all of those that submitted for the Potomac Review Poetry Contest ’10, thank you. We received an overwhelming number of submissions, double-to triple the amount the last time we had a poetry contest. Obviously with a larger pool to pick from, there were a lot of standouts, including those that did and did not make the list below.

Without further ado, the envelope please:

1st Place-Tory Adkisson- “Scarecrows”

2nd Place- Christine Poreba- “Lessons in Leaving the Ground”

Honorable Mentions:

Ruth Thompson- “Woman With Crows”
Luisa Igloria- “The Art of Kissing”

Nancy K. Pearson- “Spring Necropsy”
Deborah DeNicola- “Of 30 Years, Reading Mark Strand”
James Zimmerman- “Epiphany”

Congrats to all.
