The Potomac Review will launch a new feature, “The Maybe Dialogue-Blog.” A writer has agreed that we will discuss her story and why it was a “Maybe” and not an “Accept.” Associate Editor Zachary Benavidez and I will offer our comments, and our writer will offer her responses and revision ideas. Watch for it later this week.
We hope to do the “Maybe Dialogue-Blog” a few times a year, as a sort of online sit-down with a PR editor. This feature will be a window into our editorial process and also a fascinating discussion of revision. Remember the editor can only say what isn’t working in a work of fiction. Only the writer can repair it.
So for all the times you wondered what an editor was really thinking, here is your chance to see those comments. Even better, watching a revision discussion in progress, maybe will jump start your own writing.
