While you figure out if your know-it-all friend was right that St. Patrick was not born Irish (he/she was right, which makes St. Paddy’s day even more inclusive!), we at the Potomac Review have been marketing for the our third annual Conversations and Connections Writer’s Conference, in conjunction with the good people at Barrelhouse, Baltimore Review, and John Hopkins University. It’s a stones throw from the Dupont Circle Metro on the Hopkins DC campus. Amy Hempel is our featured guest! Yes, the Amy Hempel that is a recipient of the Guggenheim Fellowship and Hobson Award, Her great Collected Stories was named one of NYT Ten Best Books of the Year. So if you are in the DC area on Aprill 11th, come join us!

Along with the Writer’s Conference, we’ve been getting ready for Issue 45 launch party in the Spring and awaiting the printed reviews from the press.

As you can see we took a much needed break off last week, and in the coming weeks we are going to have some Associate Editors, interns, and other guests post. It’ll be exciting, informative, and engaging, or at least one of those at a time.
