Montgomery College congratulates the newest cohort of Hillman Entrepreneurs. These students, chosen for their entrepreneurial mindset, will embark on a set of core courses in entrepreneurship leading to a minor in technology entrepreneurship when they graduate from the University of Maryland College Park. In addition, they receive scholarship and bookstore funds, mentors, internships, and a rich learning environment where they meet and visit local entrepreneurs and business leaders–as they embark on their own journeys to become the next generation of leaders of Maryland.
The Hillman program runs as well at Prince George’s Community College and the two programs collaborate in many ways–conducting joint service projects, field trips, and networking events. In the first of these, students from both programs came together last week at the University of Maryland for the program orientation (see attached photograph).
The Hillman Entrepreneurs Program celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and the third anniversary of its Montgomery College program. In these three years, the program has grown and become a stellar example of what can happen when motivated students, opportunities, and support come together.
So won’t you please join me in welcoming and congratulating our students on their entry into the Hillman program and keep an eye out for them in the next year!
